Cosmetic Hair Loss Solutions
Cosmetic hair loss solutions can cover a wide array of products ranging from hair-in-a-can hair thickeners to coloring options, from wigs to fully customized hairpieces.
All have their different markets, and all will offer differing results depending
on your expectations.
Shampoos, Hair Thickeners, and Disguisers
The range of products on the market that claim, truly or otherwise, to have some effect
on hair loss to some degree is almost endless. Shampoos that thicken hair,
special hair thickeners where the hair shaft is coated with a bonding thickening
agent, and disguisers in the form of colorings and such abound. These are
products that populate the cheap end of the market for hair loss options,
and should be treated as such – cheap options. Any immediate benefits
are likely to be extremely short lived, and probably well below expectations.
Having said that, many hair loss sufferers are tempted to begin their exploration
of hair loss solutions with a small purchase here and there of these kinds
of products. After all, somebody must be buying them for they keep producing
and marketing the products. Beware of falling into a false ‘sense of
hair’ with the use of such products. We’ve all seen men who comb
long strands of hair over from one side of their head over their bald patch
and wonder why they do it. Part of the reason is that they only see themselves
from one angle – and that is straight on in the mirror each morning.
To them it looks like a pretty good mane of hair on their head. To the rest
of us it looks woeful and we are often too embarrassed to say anything about
it. Think about that before purchasing ‘hair in a can’, scalp
coloring powder, or anything remotely like it. You’ll only be drawing
attention to the very area you want to be taking attention away from.
